DISPUTE RESOLUTION

My dispute-resolution practice includes appointments as mediator, arbitrator, and court-ordered special master and referee. With a specific interest in the area of mediation in 2010, I obtained certified mediator status and commenced service as a court-deputized Mandatory Settlement Conference judge.  Ever since, the majority of my work has been in the HOA and multi-family-housing realm.

I offer unmatched resolution strategies informed by extensive trial and appellate experience and, more recently, as general counsel for a major construction firm specializing in multi-family housing. I would like to say “I’ve seen it all,” but unexpected issues never fail to appear even in seemingly routine dispute scenarios. The challenges are there to be overcome and I bring unique problem-solving skills to guide parties through the resolution process, no matter how complex or rancorous.

The first two decades of my legal practice were devoted to litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in housing and construction disputes ranging from owner vs. owner; HOA and members vs. each other and third parties; and all combinations of parties in during-/post-construction matters. My more recent time as corporate general counsel provided unique insight into the complex relationships between business goals, client relationships, problem solving, and risk management.
